‘Fess Up Friday…with a TWIST!

Ok…so we ALL make mistakes, have little slip-ups, etc. that weigh heavily on us from time to time.  For those of you who know me well–I know it’s hard to believe that I’m not PERFECT, but please try. LOL. Read the rest of this entry »

CBC Continuation: Finding TIME for SM (Social Media)

balancing_time_335805I’m still chatting with Jamie from Profitable Mommy Blogging.  In her last post, Jamie asked:

How do YOU keep twitter from being a disctraction? Or, just social networking in general? We know it’s important to grow our business, but how much is too much?

Great questions!  One of the first things I figured out when I became a work-at-home-mom (WAHM) almost 7 years ago was that I really needed to manage my time well in order to get things done.  Back then, the whole social media game was really just beginning–it didn’t even have that COOL title! The “action” at that time was on message boards and in chat rooms.  Talk about getting lost in a back whole! lol… Read the rest of this entry »

Socially Speaking: CBC Continued with Jamie

shutupandtwitterTag..I’m it!

This is a continuation of my CBC with Jamie at Profitable Mommy Blogging.  If you’re just getting here, you should follow our conversation from the beginning to catch up.

In her last post, Jamie commented:

I noticed your site has a free ebook. How important is it to a site like yours to offer a free giveaway like that? Is that something moms should do with their blog in order to build a following or get a good email list for newsletters and such?

And, since it’s about social networking… what’s your FAVORITE way to social network? Read the rest of this entry »

Cross Blog Conversation (CBC) with Profitable Mommy Blogging

mommybloggerI’m so excited to let you know that I’ve been engaged in a cross blog conversation.

What is THAT, you ask?  Well, it’s when two bloggers converse back and forth, each from their own blog.  So, my readers, you’ll get a chance to follow my conversation (and follow another FAB blog!) with Jamie of Profitable Mommy Blogging.

Jamie started the conversation off with the following:

So, Edie-My question for you is this:

I noticed you have a mix of both pleasure and business on your blog. Occaosinally you mention a proud mommy moment, but mostly you talk about the things that matter to those momies out there wanting to make cash with their blogs. How do you decide your balance for those sorts of posts? Do you have a system, or do you just sort of go for it? Read the rest of this entry »

Do You Hear What I Hear?

earI have the opportunity to meet each week with a group of “like-minded” individuals to discuss business development techniques, gain education for business and personal growth, etc.  It’s been eye opening, to say the least, to see how business owners from different industries and backgrounds have similar struggles and issues within their businesses.  I would advise ANY business owner to seek such a group  in their own area immediately! The Multitasking Myth

multitasking_run_amok_lg1There’s a television show called Myth Busters where a team of scientists take commonly held myths and determine if they can be BUSTED–or proven false.  Recently, I had a little case of my own.

A friend of mine, Steve Scott,  shared a powerful message at a networking meeting a few weeks ago and I wanted to share it and the impact it has had on me in hopes that it may do the same for you.

For years, I’ve lived with a fallacy that multitasking means that one is highly productive because of the ability to perform many things at once.  If the truth be told, I’ve also held the belief that women are innately superior in this area.  Let me see if any of this sounds familiar to you… Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Mother’s Day…

Thought I would share a poem that really sums it up for me.  Enjoy!

first-day-of-schoolframe

Before I was a Mom

“Before I was a mom, I made and ate hot meals, wore unstained clothes and had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a mom, I never worried about how late I went to bed because I could sleep in as long as I wanted.

Before I was a mom, I washed my face and brushed my teeth everyday.

Before I was a mom, I enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee while reading the
morning newspaper on a Saturday morning.

Before I was a mom, I slept the whole night through.

Before I was a mom, my house was clean everyday and I didn’t worry about whether or not my plants were poisonous.

Before I was a mom, I had never been puked on, pooped on, peed on, chewed on or pinched by little fingers.

Before I was a mom, I had complete control of my mind, thoughts and body.

Before I was a mom, I never held down a screaming child while doctors and nurses did tests or gave shots. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces because I couldn’t stop the hurt.

Before I was a mom, I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

Before I was a mom, I never got gloriously happy over a toothless grin.

Before I was a mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put it down. I never was up in the wee hours of the night just watching a baby while it slept. I never knew that something so small couldn’t effect my life so tremendously.

Before I was a mom, I never knew I could love someone so unconditionally and completely.

Before I was a mom, I never knew how satisfying it is to feed a hungry
child. I never knew how fulfilling it is to soothe a baby’s cries.

Before I was a mom, I loved my mom, but didn’t understand her.

Before I was a mom, I never knew the warmth, the joy, the heartache, the
wonderment, or the fulfillment of being a mom.

Before I was a mom, I never knew I would love being a mom.”

The BEST EVER Internet Marketing Book for Moms!

I had the privilege of completing a 10 week internship with Kelly McCausey the guru of the Moms Talk Network. Although I’ve been blogging for years, I took this opportunity b/c of a Tweet Kelly made calling for interns. Her proposal? Give me 10 weeks and I’ll give you the BEST blogging education of your life! And she SO delivered on that promise.

Things are going to get even BETTER here at my blog largely because of Kelly’s expertise.

In my former life, when I was heavily involved in direct sales, I purchased numerous information products through the Moms Talk Network and loved them all. Kelly has taken MTN to a whole new level with her new book, “The Complete Internet Marketing Moms Start Up Guide”.

If you’re just getting started with internet marketing, you NEED this book. If you’re “STUCK” with your marketing efforts, you NEED this book. If you want MORE success than you have now, you NEED this book. And if you’re smart enough to follow Kelly too on Twitter (@kellymccausey) you just might be lucky enough to get picked the next time she does an internship.

Proud Momma!

Well, it’s a bitter sweet day for me. My babies are growing up and I have to admit that it’s hard to watch sometimes. One of Life’s little “secrets” is that time passes FAR too quickly.

Last night, my oldest was in his First Grade Musical: The Cheese Stands Alone. It was all about how it’s “cool” to be different and stand up for what you believe in. YAY!

As I sat there in the gym (sweating like a pig!) amongst the other proud parents and grandparents, I wondered how many were really stopping to savor the moment. It won’t be too much further in the future that he really WILL need to make some tough choices and I worry every day that I’ve done enough to help him make the right ones.

So my thought for today is this: Stop right now and take a minute to think about the last time you REALLY appreciated life’s journey. And if it takes you LONGER than a minute to think of something, then you’ve got some work to do!

Here For The Party?? Me too!

I’ve been hearing the Buzz on the mommy blogosphere about 5 Minutes for Mom’s 2009 Ultimate Blog Party. I decided that this year I need to participate because it’s about the true meaning of social media–developing relationships.

How does this happen? By getting to know others on the blogosphere.

How do you get to know a group of virtual strangers? By visiting, reading and commenting on other blogs of interest.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie or a guru, a mom or not. (this year, EVERYONE is welcome!) You can literally let your inner “Rock Star” loose and chances are there’s someone at the UBP who will become your groupie! lol…

If you’re new to Millionaire Moms Inc, WELCOME! If you’d like to read about me you can get a brief look at my “blood, sweat, and tears” journey in business while juggling it ALL–just like most of you!

I welcome the opportunity to share, to learn, to reach out, to lift up and have a FABULOUS time getting to know you all. Look for my comments on YOUR blogs too! I give LINK LOVE any time that I can!

If you have questions, give a holler! Comments are WELCOMED and reciprocated! (Hint! Hint!)
